Hello Everyone!
This week has been amazing! Lots of laughter and fun memories made and some amazing lessons with some amazing people! And lots of service! We did a total of 9 hours of service this week so that was fun! I've definitely grown and learned a lot since being out on my mission! And this week was no exception.
We had a lesson with a friend of ours. His family have all been baptized, but he hasn't decided if he wants to or not himself yet. He's been meeting with missionaries for a while now and so we met with him to try and figure out where he's at. It was an amazing lesson and I felt the spirit very strong. At the beginning of the lesson I had no idea what to say or how to help him, but I definitely wanted to because that's what I came out on my mission to do, to help those I meet come closer to Jesus Christ. And so I said a silent prayer to help me think of something I could say to help him, and it was then that an experience that I had in the past came to mind that was similar to the concern that he had. I was able to share my experience and hopefully help him by sharing it. I know that Heavenly Father answers our prayers. I know that He loves each and everyone of His children so much and wants each of us to return and live with Him someday. I know that when we have a desire to help and serve others, and we let Heavenly Father know of that desire, He will give us opportunities to serve and help His children. I encourage each of you, if you have the desire, to pray for service and missionary opportunities, and I promise that Heavenly Father will put people in your path who you can help.
Something else I learned this week is perfectly stated in a quote by Elder Richard G. Scott. He says, "We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day." We can learn and study something as much as we want, but it isn't until we act on what we learn and BE what we are learning that we can really become and begin to change and grow.
Love you all! Hope you all have an amazing week!
Sister Carlson
