Credit for Trying

Hello Everyone!

This week was long but good! Sister Cole and I have a lot of fun together! We had a lot of things cancel and so did a lot of knocking doors, but God definitely places us in situations that we need to be in.

Something I learned this week is that God blesses us for trying. Most of the time we won't reach the goals or expectations we set for ourselves, but God recognized each tiny effort we make and He will magnify those small efforts. Elder Jeffery R. Holland said in a conference talk a few years ago that "we get credit for trying, even if we don't always succeed." Do your best and give your all, then turn it over to the Lord and as you do this I promise that Heavenly Father will be proud of you no matter the outcome.

Love you all! Have an amazing week!

New companions

Change and Comfort Zones

Hello Everyone!

I hope your weeks have been good! This week has been so good, but so crazy with transfers! I am still in Woods Creek and my new companion is named Sister Cole! She is actually Sister Snowder's MTC companion and Sister Thunell's trainer so that's crazy! But she's the sweetest! It's been a blast the past four days!

Something that I've learned this week is how aware Heavenly Father is of each of us and our situations and our needs. Change is not the easiest, but I have been able to see how transfers has been exactly what I needed, even though it wasn't what I wanted. I've loved rereading the story of Lehi and his family leaving Jerusalem in Come Follow Me this year. Leaving Jerusalem, I'd imagine would not have been easy or what any of them wanted. They were happy and comfortable in Jerusalem. It was their home. But the Lord commanded them to go and so they went. Each family member reacted differently. Nephi turned to the Lord and replied on him as he went through the changes and challenges of leaving the comforts of his home. As we turn to the Lord in times of change I can promise you that He will give you the help and comfort that you need. Don't try to do it on your own. The Lord is ready and willing to help you. The Lord knows exactly what you need and I can promise you that as you turn to Him and submit to His will that you will see that your life will turn out far better than you could have ever imagined. I invite each of you this week to ask the Lord what His will is for you and then go and do.

Love you all! Have an amazing week!

Transfer week

Transfers!

Hello Everyone!

Happy Monday! Transfers are this week and I am staying in Woods Creek for another transfer! However, Sister Snowder is being transferred so I am getting a new companion. I'm excited for a change, but also very sad to say bye to Sister Snowder.
This week was a good one! We saw a lot of miracles and made 4 new friends in one week which was amazing! I can testify that hardwork and exact obedience brings miracles! No matter how long the miracles take to come.

Something I've learned this week is that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are ALWAYS there. Even in the times that you may not feel them, they are there. Their arms are constantly outstretched towards you and they never get tired. In Alma 5:37 it says, "a shepherd hath called after you and is still calling after you." That Shepherd is Christ and He is always calling after you. In church yesterday we sang Be Still My Soul and that is one of my favorite hymns! One line in it says, "In every change he faithful will remain." I can testify that Christ is always there. In every change or craziness that we have going on in our lives, we always have something that is unchanging and that is our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. They are "the same yesterday, today, and forever." They are there for you "yesterday, today, and forever." They love you "yesterday, today, and forever." As soon as you turn to them they will run to your aid and be there right by your side to help you in any way you need. I invite each of you this week to turn to your Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ in prayer and to commit to be a constant in their lives. Be obedient. Be a constant disciple of Jesus Christ. Stand as a witness of Him. And I can promise that He will constantly bless you with His love and help.

Love you all! Have a great week!

Moroni's promise

Hello Everyone!

Happy February! Hope your week was great! This week was a good one in Woods Creek! We got to teach at a youth activity and that was so fun because it was like a throwback to my youth days haha. We also got to eat scallop with one of our friends on Saturday so that was fun!

Something I learned this week was the reality of Moroni's Promise in Moroni 10:3-5. It says, "Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I have tested this challenge given by Moroni and I promise that it works. If you ask God with a sincere heart, real intent, having faith in Christ you will recieve an answer. It may not come when you expect it or how you expect it, but it will come! God loves you and hears you and wants to answer you. "Ask and ye shall recieve!" Also the Book of Mormon is amazing! It will bring peace and joy to your life. It will help you overcome temptations and trials in your life. It will bring a power to your life. It truly testifies of Christ and you will grow closer to Him as your read it and be able to feel of His hand and love in your life as you read it. I invite each of you to apply Moroni's promise and ask God if the Book of Mormon is true and I promise you will recieve an answer. I also invite you to strive to read the Book of Mormon daily and I promise that it will change your life and make your life better.

Love you all!
